02 X INTRODUCTION

Architectural routine is a project of a series of abstract spaces, which intend to overturn the concept of routine, from people to architecture. It wants to affirm the dynamic component as an integral part of the morphological development of the project.

The compositions contest the typological dependence in favour of a dynamic formal autonomy. The project proposes an abstract point of view on the architectural composition, emphasized by the introduction of the pendulum as a characterizing element of the passage of time.

03 X DESCRIPTION

Architecture is often associated with a static concept, immobile, permanently rooted in the territory. However, it maintains an important dynamic component represented by the thresholds that define the relationship between the internal and external spaces of the architectural envelope. Thanks to the opening and closing of these devices, it is possible to access, visit and inhabit these spaces by setting up a relationship that over time becomes routine.

Architectural routine, is a project of a series of abstract spaces, which intend to overturn the concept of routine, from people to architecture, affirming the dynamic component as an integral part of the morphological development of the project. The compositions contest the typological dependence in favour of a dynamic formal autonomy. The project proposes an abstract point of view on the architectural composition, emphasized by the introduction of the pendulum as a characterizing element of the passage of time.

The realization of the entire project takes place through the classic representation’s tools of contemporary architecture including preparatory sketches, technical drawings and three-dimensional models. The process was characterized in three distinct phases:

  • conceptual elaboration: definition of the theme, collection of references, preliminary sketches, mood boards, technical drawings and preliminary three-dimensional tests
  • definitive design: three-dimensional modelling of architectures, construction of the context, materials mapping, lights and cameras.
  • animation and postproduction: dynamic development of the architectural elements, elaboration of the definitive output.

The video as a final product, condenses the entire design process, trying to make the viewer perceive a destabilizing spatial experience compared to the typical spaces of our routines.

04 X ABOUT

Daniele Zerbi is an architect based in Milan, he is Co-founder of the Fuzz Atelier studio and artist and curator on Artano NFT platform. Through the architectural practice he experiments on different techniques such as drawing, photography, 3d modelling, rendering and visual live processing.

His constant research is about the relationship between real world and its virtual representation. An exploration that starts from distinctive features of architectural space to arrive at abstract dimensions in which colour and geometry claims their formal autonomy.
